My area has been filled with snow and too many cold temperature winter days... It has done nothing but make me wish for flowers and spring. The snow has been frozen and covered with beautiful white fluffy snow, but it still hides all of the precious green beauty of the grass. Flowers, sunshine and the singing of all of the birds is what I wish for on the coldest days of all...

Some of my favorite kinds of flowers to plant include pansies, daisies, wildflowers, irises and inpatients. Also in the spring, I get to enjoy digging around in the ground to prepare for my vegetable garden too...

But as long as all of the snow continues to fall in my home area, I will just have to dream of colorful and plentiful flower gardens... and pretend to hear all of the joyful robins singing at my window...

There's nothing more important than promoting reading in a child's life-or even beginning it in adulthood. Reading helps us learn more about the English language, better our vocabulary, and broaden our horizons and imaginations. It is also a great stress reliever and promotes wonderful relaxation before bedtime. Google is also taking it's part in promoting reading. Google is creating a domain where you can download over a million different books online! This is a wonderful idea, for those who may not have access to the books they desire or need.

Often, sometimes children don't like to read because of uncomfortable positions, or they just picture themselves sitting at a school desk, in an uncomfortable plastic or wooden chair, and reading. Reading should be enjoyable, comfortable, and fun. When you are sitting at a desk, with a hard back, not to mention-no cushion for your behind, of course-it isn't going to sound exciting or fun!

If you are a parent, why not set up a reading spot in the home?... Set it up by a window with a peaceful setting. Perhaps showing the outsidewith a tree neabry, or flowers in the yard, or at least have a place that doesn't show a road with traffic that can disturb the thought process. When you read, you must have comfortable seating. Nobody wants to sit in a hard chair, an office chair, or even the floor for that matter. Try a bean bag!...

Education and Job Outlook in Human Services.

Human service assistants can help individuals improve their quality of life. They can help individuals find assistance in health-care, finances, and other types of public aid. There are a variety of job descriptions that can describe the human services field. Some of these jobs may be case managers, mental health aide, community outreach worker, life skills counselor, or a human service worker.

Jobs in human services usually prefer those who have education beyond a high school diploma. A bachelor degree or masters in human services, counseling, rehabilitation, or social work are some of the types of educations that are usually required for job positions. Other skills may require a strong urge to want to help people and the community, have good communication skills, responsibility, and have good time management.

In 2006, there were about 339,000 jobs in Human Services. Sixty percent of those jobs were held in health-care, and social assistance. The human services field is expected to grow up to thirty four percent by the year 2016. Those who are interested in this field should be expected to have the proper continued education and degrees.

An education in Human Services can be done online. Many offer degree programs for those who want to major in Human Services. Some of the schools that offer Human Service Degrees are The University of Phoenix, Walden University, Liberty University Online, California Coast Online, Ashford University, ICS Canada, and many more.

For those who want to attend college on campus, they can check out Springfield College, The School of Human Services. Students can earn a bachelors, masters, or an executive masters degree in their programs. They can transfer up to 72 credits from an undergraduate program when coming to Springfield College. There are also weekend classes for those who may not be able to come to all of the week day classes. Students can expect to complete their degrees in about a year and half to two years. There is also financial aid support for students who may be financially strapped and also plenty of one and one attention for academic support. The campus is located in several different locations across the United States. They include Boston, Massachusetts; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Tampa, Flordia; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Springfield, Massachusetts. Faith is something we all need these days.Sometimes--it comes to us in large doses--or small ones. A Month Without My Grandma (a personal note from Ariana)

It's been almost a month now that Grandma has been gone.

(*For those of you who didn't know....On April 9th, 2009, my grandma passed away at the still young age of 74. She had congestive heart failure and had been sick for the past few years. Grandma had her good and bad days. --And also had been in and out of the hospital, but had always seemed to pull through. I was close to my grandmother, and I loved her so much...I never imagined life without her.... And now---she has passed away and joined the angels in heaven--and I miss her so much)

Time flies by so quickly. My dad and I went to visit my aunt Cissy at her old house a couple weeks ago. It was the first time I had been there since grandma had passed. You could definitely feel a spirit missing from the house. There was a void.... But grandma's chair by the counter was still there-with her pad on the chair, and her glasses and magnifying glass on the counter. Her stuff was still there---but grandma was definitely not in the house.

It seems so much quieter there, and you can really feel like something is missing. My aunt is going to continue living there as long as she can....She has to be lonely in that house after being there so long with grandma. ... I admire her courage--as I could have not done the same thing....

We are definitely feeling the tugs and pulls of our hearts. We all miss grandma so much. It's weird not having her around... It was odd not hearing her input when I was there at the house---or her sighs...her laughs.. Grandma's kitty--Sassy---she knows grandma is gone too. She too-looked as if she had lost a friend... She seems bored. My family has said that Sassy will not let anyone sit in the bed where Grandma has passed....I don't think anybody has sat in that bed.... ..I don't even think anyone has sat in grandma's spot at the kitchen--or in the couch. It's almost as if she should still be there--or if maybe she is just in the bathroom for a minute--and she will be right back... But she isn't ....

--Her spirit is in our hearts...but she now lives in Heaven...I sure hope she is looking down on all of us...I really miss her.

I don't know about you...but I am worried.

I live in Illinois where so far as of Sunday, April 26th, there have been no confirmed cases. Yet, seeing pictures and reading the news-it is frightening me. I have heard most cases in the United States have been mild, but that still doesn't make it okay. In a way, I am kind of seeing Steven King's movie and book, "The Stand," in the back of my mind. Anytime I heard of a flu or pandemic, I think of that story. Maybe that's why it scares me so much--of course-I know it's just fiction, but this swine flu--- This is real life stuff.

I will pray every night. Pray for my family, friends, and country. I will pray for good health, and for those who need to recover. I'm still young and in my late 20's, and I am kind of hoping for a good long term life. I certainly don't want to die from being ill....

I ask each and every one of you to pray... And to please watch your health and those around you. Wash your hands, try to stay away from those who are sick, and just do your best to stay safe... We don't need this spreading across the U.S.... I don't want to re-live the fictional story of "The Stand," either...

One of my favorite Bath and Body scent collections include Warm Vanilla. There is nothing more comforting and warm smelling than the scent of vanilla.

Also, similar scents to some of these expensive lotions and perfumes can be purchased at discount stores like Dollar General or Dollar Trees. They often sell perfumes at lower prices that are affordable for a tight budget.

Walmart also sells a line of Bath and Body goods that are just as good as Bath and Body Works. There is vanilla, rasberry, citrus scents, and lime verbana-ones that are very similar to the Bath and Body line.

Contact the activity director at your local healthcare center or nursing home and speak with them about your intentions of hosting a reading at their facility. Set up a day and a time to visit the residents.
Step 2

Gather some of your poems once you have permission from the activity director. Choose shorter and m ore lively poems to hold the resident's attention for at least a half an hour. You can choose inspirational, humorous, or even some about romance. It might be best to clear away from sad poems, as you are here to brighten the residents day.

Invest in a second computer or laptop if you don't already have one. You will never see the computer again once World of Warcraft has been installed. You are lucky to get 30 minutes of Internet time. Don't wait around. Just find one. Search Ebay, Newegg, or make payments on one at Dell. If you have your own personal home business, borrow money and get a personal loan from your local bank to purchase one.

Step 2

Speak with your husband/wife/mate the moment you see them. Once they are in WOW (World of Warcraft), you may never get to speak with them again for the rest of the day or evening. Hug or kiss them as if they are leaving for the war. It could be your last for the day.

Step 3

Ask funny questions to your spouse/mate when they are wearing noise canceling headphones as they are playing World of Warcraft . Make your face to appear serious. Do this only when you are bored.
