How to Cope With Borderline Personality Disorder Parents


Borderline Personality Disorder is a chemical imbalance that can alter a person's mental health. It is a stressful disorder to deal with, but you can take steps to help a parent learn to cope with it. By speaking with doctors, counselors, friends, family, and even your church, you can learn to live a somewhat normal life again. The disorder can be confusing, but with proper research and understanding, you can learn to help your parent cope with the illness. Step 1

Be as supportive as you can for your parent. He may be experiencing feelings and moodswings that he may not even understand himself. Keep a close eye on his prescriptions and stay in close touch with the doctor. Talk to the doctor about increasing or decreasing any medication that you feel might be helpful to your parent.
